for Suzi
We
are voters in the 37th Senate District who live in or near to
Larchmont -- Democrats, Republicans, voters affiliated with
minority parties or no party. We support the re-election of
Suzi Oppenheimer to the New York State Senate.
Most
voters in Senator Oppenheimer's district are aware of her record
of leadership and service. As voters in Larchmont, we also know
Liz Feld's record. This website explains our reservations about
Liz and our reasons for supporting Suzi.
Suzi
has the experience and seniority in state government that our
district needs, and an excellent record in Albany budget reform,
the environment, women’s issues and above all, education.
Challenger
Liz Feld has demonstrated a remarkable lack of candor and judgment
as the mayor of Larchmont for just over two years. She has delivered
on none of her campaign promises, raised property taxes over
three budgets by 13%, repelled most of the experienced volunteer
firefighters by rejecting their elected chief and personally
choosing a paid chief now costing $175,000 annually; reversed
open government reforms, and cut corners on environmental protection.
She now seeks to present herself as a one-issue 4% tax-cap candidate,
when her tax increases in two of her three years as mayor have
been 4.5% and 5%.
